The NHL's 2012 Bill Masterson's award winner Max Pacioretty has just inked a 6 year contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens. All I can say is WOW, Marc Bergevin is really stepping up to the plate locking in our core players... Price & MaxPac are signed for the next 6 years each, while Josh Gorges one of our warriors on defence signed a long term externsion earlier on in the season. With MaxPac scoring just 2 fewer goals then Erik Cole last year and inking at 4.5 mill a year, I really hope this now finally sets the stage for the signing of our marketing machine PK Subban. I know PK will resign with the Habs, just the fact that were now signing players to extensions before actually signing a Subban contract.... Meh... It will get done though... Bergevin is really earning some stripes so far this offseason... The NHL & NBA seasons could not start any sooner!!!! #GoHabsGo... Heres some MaxPac highlights for you...
It finally happened... What 75% of the city was waiting for. Jacques Martin was fired as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens. I can't front, I was defending Jacques the last little while. However as most of you that know me , know I've been WAITING for years for the debut of Alexei Emelin. It finally happened, unfortunately Jacques was not as excited as me, not letting the rookie play out his mistakes and only letting him get physical lately.

On top of that, the whole city was in uproar regarding how Cole was being used to start the year. No PP minutes at all to start the year until the press conference fiasco we all enjoyed, where a young Tsn990 reporter called him out. The up and down usage of Eller and MaxPac have also been terrible coaching, the OVER usage of Weber was unacceptable as well.

I really hope Randy will let Emelin , Eller, Maxpac and Subban be the stars they were meant to be. At the same time letting Cole, Cammer & AKosti aka Kush be the offensive stars they already are. I'm hoping Randy won't plant all 5 Habs in front of Price screening him which has resulted in a shit load of goals against. He's an ELITE goalie, he doesnt need a 5 player wall in front of him, only Hal Gill lying down :)

It became evident to me a couple of games ago that the players had given up on Martin, I'll never forget Cammers shoot out attempt just a couple of games ago. I think Randy is more of a players coach and will help kill some of the tension that has obviously been in the locker room lately. He helped develop MaxPac into the player he is today, so I can't wait to see what he does with Emelin, Eller & Subban.

Here's to what feels like a brand new season!!! #GoHABSGo
The Habs brand new backup goalie Peter Budaj has decided to rock #30 this season. I expect a great season from Budaj, not Halak-like but definately better then Alex Auld. With a real D-Core infront of him, Budaj can play 20+ games give Price a rest and getting him ready for the playoffs... With the NBA lockout possibly never ending, hockey season couldn't come any sooner!!
So after much speculation it is confirmed that Erik Cole will wear #72 in a Habs uniform. Very random number, but whatever works right? He skated for the first time in Brossard today and is meeting with the media right now! (2pm EST) Looking forward to the video & looking forward to what I presume will be a line of Cole-Plecks-Cammer ... Heres a link to the official story...
The Habs announced today they have re-signed Ryan White. According to our favourite rds reporter here at Mr Renaud Lavoie it's a 1yr/$625000 deal and a one way contract. Great signing, Pyatt is replaceable however we don't have many people that can throw down on our team. So welcome back to the man who scored a Gordie Howe hat trick last year, and up next inking Josh Gorges.
